Microneedling
Microneedling
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses your body’s own healing system to create new collagen and elastin. Microneedling provides solutions for a number of skin issues.
Also known as collagen induction therapy, the procedure is minimally invasive and can treat skin problems such as acne scars and fine lines using your body’s own collagen production for firmer and smoother skin. Most of the microneedling procedures are done on the face to deal with scars, large pores and wrinkles.
Microneedling Procedure
During a microneedling treatment, we first numb the skin with a topical numbing cream. We then cleanse the skin. Using hyaluronic acid or PRP (your own platelet rich plasma) the skin is then punctured with small and sterile needles using what looks like a pen. The pen is moved evenly across your skin during your treatment so that your new skin will grow in evenly. The punctures are like pinprick and they only enter on the surface level. In fact, you probably won’t feel the pinpricks because of the topical lidocaine used before the procedure. The whole process usually takes only about half an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions
Am I a candidate for Microneedling?
If you have certain skin issues and are in good physical health, you are a good candidate for a microneedling procedure based on your individual needs. I will evaluate your skin and discuss with you what is the best way to get your desired outcome. We will likely combine microneedling with skin care products to be used at home.
Is Microneedling painful?
There is minimal to no pain when it comes to undergoing a microneedling procedure. There is no downtime except for minor skin irritation right after your treatment. Pinkness for a day or two is the expected result.
Is Microneedling effective?
When performed by a plastic surgeon and nurse practitioner, microneedling can enhance the penetration of skin and effectively decrease fine lines and wrinkles and acne scars, among other issues. Microneedling is surprisingly effective in many ways for people at different stages of their lives. Skin feels tight, youthful, and fresh as soon as a few days afterwards.
What results can I expect from Microneedling?
You should start to see results within a couple of days after your procedure. Your skin works pretty quickly to create and rejuvenate new tissue. You may require a few sessions over several months to get your desired results. The maintenance treatments can prevent further damage and to improve your results. Your final look will be the softened appearances of lines and marks, pores and fine wrinkles.
Recovery
Your recovery as important as your actual procedure. Aftercare with cleansers, Retinol, HA and moisturizers will improve your results as we develop a custom skincare regiment for your needs.
