On reality shows you now see people that are considered good candidates that a decade ago wasn't, what has changed to allow for that? What is now considered a good candidate?
If you are healthy and you don't smoke, you're a good candidate for elective cosmetic surgery. Some recent updates in plastic surgery allow us to do more and fix problems that we previously couldn't fix! One such "update" is the use of fat grafting or fat transfer. This allows us to fill in depressions (e.g. in the breast or face) that previously we just couldn't fill in. There are also non-surgical techniques that we now have available. One of the newer techniques coming out and FDA approved is Kybella/Kythera. This is a treatment that involves an injection into the neck to dissolve fat there. Even if you were not in perfect health, for example, you could have this procedure done under local anesthesia.
