Rhinoplasty recovery lasts about 2 weeks. That's the point where you can go out in public without your splint (at least in my practice, I keep the outer splint on for 2 weeks).
Many people (especially in South America) love to wear their splint (even if they haven't had surgery) out in public. Apparently it is a sign of wealth.... Apparently.
The first few days aren't very fun. There is swelling and bruising and stuffiness and overall kind of yucky feeling. You can't blow your nose also which is annoying. But after about a week, you could sit at a desk or do very light work.
Find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area with good reviews on RealSelf and good before and after photos who you feel comfortable with to address these concerns.
